Direct Drive Fans - INHERIT THE WIND FANS

All Woolen Mill Fan Company LLC belt and pulley fan models are available as single motor drive units. They require a small gear reduction motor which is mounted above the mahogany disk. The quiet motor turns the fan at 50 rpm and is hidden in the ceiling. This requies that the ceiling have adequate ventilation to prolong the motor's life. While pulleys are an available option, a larger motor is required to drive more than one fan this way.
In 1999, MGM Studios commissioned Woolen Mill Fan Company LLC to build five motorized Ostrich fans for its remake of "Inherit the Wind."
